IN-HOME OBEDIENCE TRAINING FOR YOUR DOG OR PUPPY

If you need help in canine communication, but would prefer the convenience and privacy of your home rather than attending a group class, this private, one-on-one training course is designed for you.  This is also a good option if you have a young puppy and want to get a head-start on training and advice on puppy-topics, but your pup has not completed the vaccinations needed to be able to attend a public class.  A professional trainer from Dog Services Unlimited will meet with you at a time convenient to your busy schedule: daytime, evenings, or on weekends.  The lessons will include introducing you and your dog to basic obedience commands, or more advanced work and boundary training, depending on your dog's skill level.  In-home training will also include personalized help on correcting all those annoying bad habits such as jumping on guests, nuisance barking, hole-digging, destructive chewing, escaping from the yard, housebreaking problems, etc.   You may choose to pay for just one lesson at a time, or, pay in advance for a series of three or more lessons to get a better price.  Usually, one hour per meeting is sufficient time for our trainer to work with your dog, and also to guide you in working on the techniques, so you will fully understand how to follow through with your lessons on your own.  If you have more than one dog, you will find that  1-1/2 hour meetings will probably be needed to allow sufficient time to work with your dogs.  Longer lessons may be scheduled for those who would like to cover more information in fewer sessions.

OUR FEES FOR PRIVATE LESSONS IN YOUR HOME:

FEES:  Single Lessons - Pay per lesson:
 

1-Hour Private Lesson:  $85.00
90-Minute Private Lesson:  $120.00  (if you have two dogs that need training, we recommend that

                                              you schedule 90-minute lessons, to allow enough time to work with both dogs.) 

                                    Our fees are not "per dog", but   for the amount of time the trainer will work with you.
2-Hour Private Lesson:  $150.00

FEES:  Multiple Lessons - Save $ when you pay in advance for three private lessons:
 

THREE  1 Hour Private Lessons:  $220.00     After you've had your three private lessons, if you'd like to schedule any further training, you may add any additional 1-Hour Lessons as needed:  $70.00 each. 

(We don't make you commit up front to pay hundreds of dollars for more lessons than you might need, yet we do offer you a discount should you want additional lessons beyond your first three.)    

THREE  90-Minute Private Lessons:  $295.00  

   You may add any additional 90-Minute Lessons as needed:  $95.00 each

THREE  2-Hour Private Lessons:  $395.00

COMBO PROGRAM: 

Includes one 90 minute private lesson in your home PLUS UNLIMITED ATTENDANCE for one dog at any of our group Beginning Dog Obedience classes, including our popular "Crash Course" in Canine Manners. (includes Puppy Kindergarten if your pup is young enough) for as long as you have your dog.  Since we offer over 600 group beginning obedience classes each year (see our "class schedule" page), you are sure to be able to find classes convenient to your needs.  Each person in your household may wish to  bring the dog to a class that fits their schedule, when they are ready to attend.  Five years down the road, if you are having some problems, you are welcome to bring him back to class again. (must be the same dog)

If you have multiple dogs in your household, you will need to specify which dog you are enrolling for the unlimited attendance at our group classes.  Additional dogs within the same household may be enrolled for the unlimited group class attendance for an additional $110 per dog.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:  Please check our class schedule page to select group classes you wish to attend.  Call our office at (714) 532-3647 and speak with Patty or Debbie to reserve you a spot in that class.  Let us know you are enrolled in the Combo-Program, and be sure to call at least several days prior to class starting date (the earlier the better, to avoid missing out if a class is already full)  This program does not apply to Advanced, Grad-Novice, or Review/Drill classes, Canine Good Citizen, or Agility classes.  It DOES apply to our "Crash Course" in Basic Canine manners, and all classes marked "Puppy" or "Dog" on our Class Schedule.  If attending our 8-week Dog Obedience course, you will be eligible to compete for trophies at graduation your FIRST time through the class.  Thereafter, you may attend graduation and be scored, but will not be able to compete with first-time students for trophies. (that wouldn't be fair!)

ANOTHER OPTION ... BOARD-TRAINING IN OUR HOME: For those very busy people who don't have time for homework ... We will do it all for you! 

We take dogs into our home (on a limited basis ... only two-three dogs at any time) for training and care for one-week, two-week, or three-week programs.  During your dog's stay, Senior Master Trainer, Paul Thurner will work with your dog each day, introducing basic obedience skills, (heel, automatic sit, stay, down, come, stand), working on correction and prevention of behavior problems, and developing your dog's confidence and socialization skills by working with him in the presence of other dogs.  This is an important factor in achieving reliable responses to commands in spite of "distractions" which may be present.  The three-week program will also include an introduction to distance and off-leash control.  At the conclusion of your dog's stay with us, Paul will meet with you to go over the commands and to show you how to follow through with the techniques at home. Our three-week program also includes unlimited attendance for you, your family members, and the dog, at any of our group Novice Obedience classes, for the life of the dog.  So you will be able to keep improving his behavior in a class setting, and your whole family can also work on those commands at whatever time and pace their schedules allow.  

We emphasize safety and comfort for your dog during his stay with us.  Our "cage-free boarding" provides a stress-free atmosphere where they can play all day with other dogs and even enjoy many fun activities they may not get to do at their own home.  Since they will be treated as members of our family during their stay with us, they will be inside our house quite a bit of the time, and we will be constantly working on proper home manners and intervening immediately at the moment any undesirable behaviors occur. (such as picking up an object they shouldn't have in their mouth, getting ready to potty in the house, thinking about pulling something out of the wastebasket, stealing things off counters or tables, etc.) 

They will also be getting plenty of exercise on our 1 acre of land, including our large play-yard, which is filled with agility equipment (tunnels, jumps, etc.) and toys.  For those who love to frolic in water, the side deck with it's wading pool is a favorite spot in the summer months. And we provide an endless supply of chew toys to keep them happy and prevent them from becoming bored. 

At the end of a busy day, they all settle down in our bedroom for a good night's sleep.  Dogs who may not have been allowed inside their family's house in the past, quickly learn from others how to settle down and enjoy the privileges of being a reliable, well-mannered member of their family.  Most dogs really do look forward to becoming indoor dogs, where they can be with their humans, instead of being stuck outside all the time!

Since your dog will be sharing our home with our dogs, as well as other clients' dogs, we do need to think about everyone's safety, so dogs who display aggressive tendencies towards other dogs will not be able to participate in this program.  Prior to accepting your dog(s) as a client, we will require you to make a visit to our facility in advance, and at that time, we would need to see proof of all current vaccinations, and have them meet our dogs to make sure they will have no problems interacting with them, even when toys or food are present.  We require that your dog be on a flea control program such as Front Line, and they also must be spayed or neutered if old enough.

Our fee for the THREE-WEEK board-training program is $1,890.00. 

For our TWO-WEEK basic-intro program, we charge $1,330.00.

Our ONE-WEEK obedience brush-up program is $700.00.  

We offer a 10% discount for a second dog from the same household staying with us for Board Training at the same time. 

Also, any dogs who go through our board-training program (minimum 2-week program) will be trustworthy and obedient enough that we will welcome them to return in the future for "VACATION BOARDING"  whenever their humans go on their out-of town trips!

Our fee for Vacation Boarding is $45 per night for one dog, and $25 per night for a second dog from the same household.  Our canine clients enjoy spending THEIR vacation here at our home, where they can have fun with other dogs in a stress-free, cage-free environment, and sleep in a real bedroom every night!   (Much nicer than being stuck in a cage or kennel all day with minimal human contact!)
